Baghdad, SANA- Activities of the 34th conference of the Arab Inter- Parliamentary Union kicked off on Saturday in Iraqi capital of Baghdad, with participating of Syria and Speakers of Arab Parliaments.
In his speech at the meeting of the Conference, Speaker of Iraqi Parliament, Mohammed Al-Halbousi called upon the Arab countries at all parliamentary and governmental levels to adopt a final decision regarding Syria’s return to its Arab surroundings and to effectively practice its Arab, regional and international role.
Al-Halbousi stressed also the need to serious work for Syria’s restoring its stability and rehabilitation of its infrastructure and the return of the Syrian refugees to their homeland.
“During the last days, Syria has experienced critical situations following the devastative earthquake which claimed the life of large number of people and caused huge damages to properties, which oblige us all to work on and continue supporting and assisting Syria until it could be able to overcome the repercussions of this crisis and their difficult impacts,” the Iraqi Parliament Speaker went on to say.
He also called upon the Arab countries to unify their endeavors and to reject disputes to facing the current international, and regional challenges through setting up a comprehensive realistic strategy towards solving the Problems pending for a long time.
He asserted that this summit constitutes a significant step towards strengthening relations among the Arab countries.
Al-Halbousi reiterated Iraq’s rejection of the Israeli occupation’s forces aggression against the Palestinians, asserting Iraq’s firm and principled stances towards the Palestinian cause.
