Serbia, Pakistan offer condolences on earthquake victims in Syria

Belgrade, Islamabad, SANA- Serbia has offered its heartfelt condolences to Syria and its people on the victims of the earthquake that rocked the country on Monday, and resulted in hundreds of victims.

In an interview with the official Serbian TV, which was published on the Serbian government’s website, Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabić sent a message of condolence, on behalf of the government and people in Serbia, expressing deep condolences to Syria and its friendly people on the victims of the earthquake that struck the region.

Brnabić expressed warm condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery to the injured, noting that Serbia intends to provide the necessary assistance.

In turn, the Associated Press of Pakistan quoted Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif as saying on his Twitter account, “I express heartfelt condolences and warm and sincere sympathy to the government and people of Syria who have suffered heavy human and material losses as a result of the devastating earthquake.”

Meanwhile, the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed in a statement its deep sorrow over the innocent victims of the earthquake, expressing Islamabad’s readiness to provide all possible support in the field of humanitarian efforts.

The earthquake that hit northern Syria on Monday dawn resulted in 812 deaths and 1,449 injuries in the provinces of Aleppo, Lattakia, Hama, Idleb and Tartous in an infinite toll.
