Mikdad, Abdollahian discuss strategic relations and bilateral coordination

Damascus, SANA- Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Dr. Fayssal Mikdad, received a phone call from Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hossein Amir Abdollahian, during which they discussed the strategic bilateral relations between the two countries and the high coordination at various levels for the benefit of the two peoples in Syria and Iran.

The two ministers reviewed the latest developments in the region and the world, and exchanged ideas on a number of issues of common interest, as the points of view were identical on the issues that were discussed.

They expressed their satisfaction with the continuous development of bilateral relations between the two countries and the high coordination between them in all fields.

Minister Mikdad praised the important Iranian role in supporting the steadfastness of the Syrian people through its effective role at various levels, especially in the meetings of the Astana format.

He renewed Syria’s support for Iran in the face of attempts to put pressure on it and external interference in its internal affairs, as he condemned the stances of the US and Western countries regarding the Iranian nuclear file.

Mikdad expressed Syria’s confidence in the wisdom of the Islamic Iranian leadership, government and people, in confronting these conspiracies.

For his part, Minister Abdollahian renewed Iran’s support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity, and affirmed the continuation of the support that Syria receives from Iran in its war on terrorism, and his country’s keenness to provide all forms of economic support to Syria in the face of the coercive economic sanctions imposed on it by the West.
