Sabbagh: Resolution to crisis in Syria requires from Security council to move and stop Israeli recurrent attacks, remove blockade

New York, SANA-Syria’s permanent representative to the United Nations, Ambassador Bassam Sabbagh, said that challenges of terrorism, the illegal military presence on Syrian territories, Israeli recurrent attacks and the coercive unilateral measures require Security Council to condemn these violations and end them immediately.

“Insistence on continuing the aid mechanism through borders that is encircled with a lot of breaches and faults, reflects an uncovered selectivity and a clear discrimination among Syrians who deserve those aids,” Ambassador Sabbagh said at UNSC session on the political and humanitarian affairs in Syria.

He added that the feverish endeavors by the US and EU countries to extend the mechanism of aid delivering through their claims on humanitarian commitment to the Syrian people contradict with their unprecedented blockade.

Sabbagh affirmed that the US occupation, and their linked militia’s acts of looting Syria’s of oil and wheat, have escalated the suffering of the Syrian people, adding “We are surprised with the unaccepted ignorance of some sides of these acts.”

As for the Turkey, Ambassador Sabbagh said that the continuation of cutting water off Hasaka by the Turkish regime and its agents, and using it as war weapon against civilians, should be condemned as depriving residents from water is a war crime according to the international humanitarian law.

“Solving the crisis in Syria requires a move by UN Security council to stop Israeli recurrent attacks, remove the illegitimate blockade and support the early recovery projects.
