Syrian provinces of Hama, Daraa and Homs produce more than 60,000 tons of potatoes (+ photos)

Provinces, SANA- The Directorate of Agriculture of central Hama province estimated the production at 28,806 tons of autumn potatoes during the current season.

Deputy Director of Hama Agriculture Directorate, Sattam Khalil, informed SANA that the area planted with potatoes this season amounted to 1,700 hectares, and the estimated production is 107 tons per 1,000m.

Meanwhile, in the southern province of Daraa, the director of Agriculture, Bassam Al-Hashish, estimated the province’s potato production at around 23,000 tons during the current season, and the cultivated area is 1,150 hectares.

For his part, Homs Agriculture Director Younes Hamdan said that the total production of potatoes is estimated at 14,720 tons out of a total area of 979 hectares.
