Shaaban: No country has the right to defend its security within borders of another country

Damascus, SANA- Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban, Special Adviser to the Presidency of the Republic, has affirmed that the Turkish occupation uses flimsy pretexts to justify the presence of terrorists operating under its umbrella in northwestern Syria, which is internationally rejected because no country has the right to defend its security within the borders of another country.

Shaaban, in a special interview with al-Sourya TV, added that the Turkish regime does not adhere to its commitments with Russia, and fabricates arguments to implement its ambitions in the Syrian and Iraqi territories.

Shaaban noted that after the failure of the terrorist war on Syria, Turkey and the United States intervened to defend their agents and proxies in the region, stressing that Syria was about to liberate al-Tanf region had it not been for the intervention of the United States.

She added that the goal of today’s Western-led wars is to break up countries from within and to form regional blocs against them, indicating that what is taking place in Iran is part of a systematic plan to break the axis of resistance, and is part of the United States strategy of draining Russia and Iran and continuing the blockade on Syria, but Russia is fighting today to make this world multipolar.

On the relationship with Russia and Iran, the Presidential Adviser said that the Russian special military operation to protect Donbass proved that the relationship between Syria and Russia is strong.

“Syria is focused, under the leadership of President Bashar al-Assad, on making the formulas of joint Arab action real, not formalities, decisions that are not implemented, and rhetoric that does not lead to any result,” Shaaban said.

She added that what is happening between Syria, Algeria and Oman are real steps to search for basic formulas for real joint Arab action, not for holding meetings, and other countries can join this method of joint Arab action.

According to Shaaban, Syria’s steadfastness during the years of war against it was essential in the transformations taking place in the world, and that there is no alternative to continuing steadfastness in our attempts to get out of the bottleneck by all possible means in cooperation with friends and allies.

Shaaban stressed that Syria will return unified, and will not give up its land, no matter how long the occupation lasts.
