Damascus, SANA-Following two years of work and intensified efforts to restore thousands of hectares of Lattakia and Tartous villages that came under fires as “green and recovered,” Mrs. Asma al-Assad participated with al-Fakhoura town citizens in their celebration of their victory over fire that hit the region and others.
“Nearly since two years, We and the President, came to this region after fires and the scene was painful and hard, it was painful for us all as Syrians, but it was more painful for you, locals of this land and the families of other villages,” Mrs. Asma told farmers and owners of micro-enterprises.
Ms. Asma went on to say that “Maybe at that time, it was easy for a person to give up and lose hope, especially most of villages have become ashes due to fires, but you did not give up or stopped at the relief solutions, instead, you completed and thought in developmental solutions.”
She affirmed that what has been achieved in this area in a short time by turning the fire into a victory is considered as an important experience for all of us, not only because we restored these lands green, but also because we developed them to be better than before.
She added “We are proud of you and your interest and belonging to your land… proud of your energies and the great results you have achieved during short period… we love you and share work with you to restore lands green and more.”
Two years ago, fires mercilessly hit thousands of hectares in Lattakia, Tartous and Homs, but the determination of locals of those villages and towns restored them green and recovered.
