Iranian Foreign Ministry: Coercive measures aggravate Syrians’ suffering

Tehran, SANA- Iranian Foreign Ministry has reiterated that the unilateral coercive measures imposed on Syria have aggravated the suffering of its people, who are already exposed to systematic global terrorism.

During a press conference on Monday, the Foreign Ministry spokesman Saeed Khatibzadeh said that these strict measures against the Syrian people came after the failure of Syria’s enemies to achieve their military goals, stressing the need to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty.

On the other hand, with regard to the nuclear file, Khatibzadeh affirmed that his country is continuing the diplomatic path.

He added that the Iranian government has made great efforts to revive the nuclear agreement, but the US has not adhered to its commitments.

Khatibzadeh said that Iran is one of the countries that rejects to possess nuclear weapons, but there are some countries, particularly the Zionist entity, which are trying to increase their arsenal of such weapons at a time when the US is working to cover that.
