Electricity maintenance workers injured by mortar attack in Harasta

Damascus, SANA- Electricity maintenance workers were injured due to a terrorist attack by a mortar shell in Harasta suburb on Wednesday.

A source at the Electricity Ministry said that terrorists targeted with a mortar shell one of the electricity maintenance workshops in Harasta suburb when it was fixing one of the medium voltage lines that feed the area.

The attack caused slight injures to the workers. But Mohammad al-Wais, one of the workers, sustained critical injuries and was moved to hospital for treatment.

The source said the workers continued their work to fix the damaged line unfazed by the threats of terrorists who threatened that they would shell residential areas.

A total of 170 workers in the power sector were killed in 2014 due to terrorist attacks against maintenance workshops and work sites.
