Pharmaceutical industry reactivated in Tartous through 7 laboratories

Tartus, SANA- Seven pharmaceutical factories in Tartous governorate produce various doses with national expertise that helped support the national economy, supply the local market’s need for medicines, and secure hundreds of job opportunities.

“The movement of Pharmaceutical drug production is active as there are seven licensed laboratories in Tartous, at a cost of more than SYP 7 billion, providing nearly a thousand job opportunities, in addition to three laboratories under construction” Tartous Industry’s Department director, Ammar Ali, said in a statement to SANA.

“The pharmaceutical industry was launched in the province at the beginning of the terrorist war on Syria”, he notified.

Ali highlighted that in terms of facilitations, licenses are granted to any facility, and there is cooperation between the managers of those laboratories been established with national expertise and modern technologies.

“Those managers have benefited from the expertise of their counterparts in Aleppo province “he added.

“The pharmaceutical sector in the governorate contributed to bridging the gap left by the consequences of the terrorist war and the unjust siege imposed on the Syrians”, Ahmed Ammar, Director of Tartous Health said, affirming that the production of medicines in laboratories is subject to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) .
