NAM statement condemns coercive western measures imposed on some member states

Belgrade, SANA-The high–level meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement countries of Belgrade condemned unilateral coercive measures imposed by the western states on some member states.

The participant states, in a concluding statement called on western states to remove those illegitimate measures as they harm peoples of the developing countries and prevent them from exercising their right in development.

The statement, proposed by Azerbaijan that chairs the movement, stressed the Palestinians’ right to self-determination and to establish their independent state on their land, condemning the Israeli practices against them.

It also called for equality among all states to obtain Covid-19 vaccine in addition to avoiding discrimination between the rich and poor states.
Representatives of 120 member states attended the high –level meeting in addition to guests, commemorating the 60th anniversary of  the Movement’s establishment.

Foreign and Expatriates Minister, Fayssal Mikdad chaired Syria’s delegation to the meeting.
