Beijing, SANA- An exhibition of a set of Syrian antiquities is being held in the Nanshan Museum in Chinese city of Shenzhen.
The exhibition, which opened on the 4th of August, included large number of artifacts which were loaned to China for this purpose according to signed agreement between the General Directorate for Antiquities and Museums and the Foundation of Art Exhibitions in China with the support of the Syrian Embassy in Beijing and Chinese National Cultural Heritage Administration.
The artifacts were collected from nine Syrian museums representing several geographical regions that express the richness of the Syrian civilization and its heritage.
The artifacts date back to consecutive historical eras, as a section of the exhibition was dedicated to showing the historical exchanges between Syria and China on the Silk Road.
“The exhibition aims to boost cooperation and cultural exchange between Syria and China and deepen the knowledge and interest of Chinese friends in the richness and the ancient history of Syria, “said the cultural and media official at the Syrian Embassy in Beijing, Dr. Fadi Wassouf.
The exhibition in Shenzhen is the first leg of a two-year tour, where the exhibits will be transferred to other exhibitions within Chinese cities.
