India affirms continuous support for Syria at all levels

New Delhi, SANA-Indian Foreign Ministry Undersecretary Sanjay Bhattacharya affirmed his country’s continuous support for Syria in the political, economic, cultural, scientific and humanitarian domains, and its firm stance for non-interference in the affairs of sovereign states and rejecting terrorism and extremism with all its forms.

During a meeting on Monday with Syria’s Ambassador to India, Riad Abbas, Bhattacharya hoped that Syria would come out of the repercussions of the terrorist war that was imposed on it, especially after the successful fulfilment of the presidential election.

For his part, Abbas hailed the efforts exerted by the Indian government in confronting and overcoming the consequences of the spread of the Corona virus pandemic with its new strains, and for India to get out of this confrontation with minimum losses.

The two sides discussed issues of cooperation between the two countries and ways for India to participate through its industrial, commercial, construction and service sectors in the reconstruction process in Syria.

Ambassador Abbas affirmed that India, like other friendly countries to Syria, will have an active role during this stage and that the doors are open for it to participate in the reconstruction process.

Bhattacharya and Abbas affirmed the commitment of India and Syria to continue coordination and mutual cooperation to prevent projects supporting terrorism at international forums under various pretexts and false  titles like humanitarian corridors and buffer zones.
