Lavrov stresses need for immediate settlement to ME issues

Rome, SANA – Finding a settlement to the Middle East (ME) issues necessitates an immediate solution, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told US Secretary of State John Kerry as they met in Rome on Sunday.

Russia Today website quoted lavrov as saying “We should work together to prevent the deterioration of the situation.”

The top diplomats discussed ME issues, specially the crisis in Syria, and the crisis in Ukraine.

Earlier, Russian Foreign Ministry said that talks between the two officials will concentrate on the issue of the settlement in the ME.
