More than 3,6 million school pupils start First Semester Exams

Damascus, SANA- More than 3,6 million school-pupils of Basic and Secondary stages have started Wednesday their First Semester Exams for the academic year 2020/2021 all over the country, amid-preventive measures to confront the Coronavirus, Education Ministry said.

The Ministry added that about 3,636,049 pupils of Basic and Secondary stages started their first semester exams in about 13,600 schools in all Syrian provinces as the First Semester Exams last till Thursday 14 January.

The Ministry stressed that it took all necessary health measures and required preparations to guarantee proper functioning of the exams process, taking into consideration adherence to the preventive measures to confront coronavirus.

Director of Damascus Education Department Suleiman al-Yuonis told SANA in a statement that along with the start of the exams, committees consist of educational specialists were distributed to follow up the exanimations process, adding that the Department completed sterilizing the schools during the holidays of the Christmas and the New Year.

Al-Younis indicated that the number of the pupils who have taken the exams of the Secondary stage in Damascus reached 283,000 pupils distributed on 600 schools.
