Cairo, SANA, Syrian Consulate in Cairo on Wednesday honored members of the Syrian Special Olympiad mission to the 8th Special Olympics MENA Regional Games in appreciation of their distinguished achievements.

The Syrian Special Olympiad mission to the 8th Special Olympics MENA Regional Games, which concluded activities on Wednesday, harvested about 70 medals in various competitions of the Olympics.

Head of the Consulate mission Ryiad Sneh said during the ceremony … Syrian players were able to achieve great success in the competitions of the Olympics in spite of all the difficult circumstances which Syria is passing through.

For their part, members of the Syrian Special Olympiad mission expressed happiness to participate in the Olympics, dedicating their winning to the homeland.

Syria participated in the event with a team consisting of 56 athletes who competed in 10 games: swimming, track and field, cycling, equestrian games, weightlifting, table tennis, badminton, gymnastics, rollerblading, and bocce.
