New York, SANA-Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, called for lifting sanctions imposed on some countries which could undermine their ability to respond to Coronavirus pandemic.
Sputnik Agency said that Guterres , during a meeting for the UN Security Council on Tuesday, appreciated the efforts of countries working to drop any sanctions that may negatively affect the access to humanitarian and vital medical aid in this epidemic.
Russia, China, Iran, Cuba, Syria, Nicaragua, Venezuela and Democratic Korea in March called for the lifting of sanctions to combat coronavirus.
