Preparations for the reopening of Damascus International Airport on October 1st completed

Damascus, SANA- The administration of Damascus International Airport has completed all the preparations and procedures required for the gradual operation and security of the airport set on the first of October.

Airport Director, engineer Nidal Muhammad told SANA that the preparations would ensure the readiness of human cadres to serve flights, each according to his/her specialization, including civil aviation, immigration, passports, a health center, and the entirety of the procedures that these bodies undertake.

According to Eng. Mohammed, the measures included the various stages of work from the moment the aircraft arrive and take off, in order to achieve ease of procedures related to passengers and to fulfill the requirements of the Ministry of Health protocol and the instructions of the International Civil Aviation Organization, stressing the airport’s keenness to implement all local and international recommendations to ensure safe travel for passengers.

He added the authorities concerned have taken all operating measures, including checking the test document for detecting the Corona virus with a validity period of 96 hours, placing self-sterilizing devices for passengers and bags, thermometers, increasing cleaning and sterilization periods around the clock, and placing ground signs to achieve spacing.
