Washington, SANA –Daniel Larison, a writer in the American Conservative magazine, affirmed that the incident of endangering the lives of passengers on the Iranian civilian plane in the Syrian airspace due to two American fighters approaching them dangerously is a reminder of illegal presence of US forces in Syria, saying the US must withdraw from the country immediately.
The writer said that this incident is a new reminding that US military presence in Syria is illegal, and that US fighter planes have no business being in Syria, nor do American forces in general.
Larison indicated that United States Central Command (Centcom) confirmed the involvement of the two US fighter planes, alleging that they had been on a routine patrol related to the illegitimate al-Tanf base in southeast Syria.
Larison pointed out that the planes were working illegally to ensure the safety of an illegitimate base, and nearly caused a catastrophe, stressing that US fighters mustn’t interfere with civilian planes in Syrian airspace and shouldn’t be there in the first place.
He went on to say that the illegal US base in Syria cannot achieve any goal except occupying Syrian territories, noting that the Congress never approved it, calling for
withdrawing all US forces from Syria as soon as possible before something worse happens.
