Syria, Russia call on Washington to strictly commit to international law and withdraw from areas it occupies in Syria

Moscow, SANA- The Syrian and Russian Coordination Committees on the return of the displaced Syrians have reaffirmed that the US and its allies’ occupation of some Syrian territories increased the suffering of civilians, demanding Washington to stop destabilizing the situation in Syria, and adhere to international law and the United Nations principles and withdraw from the areas it occupies.

In a joint statement, the two committees called on the United States to stop practices aimed at destabilizing the situation in Syria and strictly adhere to international law.

The statement affirmed that the US and its allies’ occupation of some Syrian territories increases the suffering of civilians and delays the return to peaceful life in the country.

It indicated that Washington and its mercenaries of terrorists in al-Tanf area on the Syrian-Jordanian borders and in the vicinity of Al-Rokban camp for the displaced, are forcing the detained men with their families in the camp to join the armed terrorist groups under the control of the US occupation forces in order to obtain the possibility to live in the camp and feed their families and this is according to testimonies given by terrorists affiliated to the so-called “Maghawer Althwra” supported by the US occupation forces.
