Health Ministry: Difficulty in securing COVID 19 test kits due to unilateral coercive measures

Damascus, SANA- Health Ministry said on Wednesday that no local cases of coronavirus(COVID-19) have been registered in Syria for 20 days and the registered cases during this period were for Syrians coming from abroad.

The Ministry said in a statement read by Assistant Director of the Contagious and Terminal Diseases Department at the Health Miinistry Dr. Atef al-Tawil that 1156 out of 2270 persons coming from abroad via Syrian Airlines discharged from quarantine centers.

The Ministry added that the medical teams at quarantine centers conducted 1500 nasal swabs for COVID-19 testing and their results will come out successively according to the availability of test kits, pointing out to the shortage of test kits as a result of unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria.
