Plane carrying Syrians stranded abroad arrives at Damascus Int’l Airport from UAE

Damascus, SANA_ An Airbus 340 plane of the Syrian Airlines carrying 251 Syrian citizens stranded abroad landed at Damascus International Airport on Monday evening coming from Sharjah Airport in the United Arab Emirates.

The passengers of the plane were transported to the Health Quarantine Center in the Sahara Complex in Damascus countryside, where they will undergo a 14-day long mandatory quarantine to verify that all returnees are not infected with the Coronavirus and guarantee the health security of citizens.

Director of Damascus Countryside Health Directorate, Yassin Na`nous told SANA that as soon as the passengers’ plane landed at the airport, all precautionary measures were taken and they were transported by private buses to the Sahara Health Center in Sahara Tourist Hotel in Damascus countryside.

Earlier, Transport Ministry said that it will run flights to evacuate Syrian citizens stranded abroad and who wish to return from a number of countries on condition of undergoing a 14-day mandatory quarantine.

On April 29, the first plane carrying 29 Syrians stranded abroad arrived from the Armenian capital, Yerevan, arrived at Damascus International Airport.
