Moscow, SANA – Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov reiterated the necessity of eliminating terrorism in Idleb province, noting to that Turkey hasn’t fulfilled its promises as per the Sochi agreement.
Lavrov said in a press conference with his Tajikistani counterpart on Monday in Moscow that the terrorist organization Jabhat al-Nusra, which is on the Security Council’s list of terrorist entities, is present in Idleb and targets civilians in the neighboring areas as well as Syrian Arab Army positions and Hmeimim airbase, stressing the need to implement the Sochi agreement and eliminate terrorists in Idleb and everywhere else.
he also said that Turkey has not committed to the Sochi agreement about Idleb and it must do so.
Lavrov expressed concerns over the support by western states – mainly the United States – to Jabhat al-Nusra to achieve their geopolitical agendas in Syria, stressing that this is completely unacceptable, and war on terrorism must continue in Syria and everywhere else in the world.
