Damascus, SANA- Tajikistan Ambassador to Kuwait Zubaydullo Zubaydov stressed his country’s support to Syria till achieving complete victory over terrorism,
During his recent official visit to Syria, Zubaydov expressed Tajikistan’s desire to enhance relations with Syria on various levels.
In a statement to SANA, He said that he discussed with Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Dr. Faisal al-Miqdad ways to strengthen bilateral relations, exchange of delegations and to continue political consultations with the aim of reactivating the agreements inked between the two countries and following up their implementation.
The Tajik Official hoped that consultations will be held soon in Tajikistan at the level of the two countries’ foreign ministries.
Zubaydov pointed out that he conveyed, during his visit to Syria last May, a written message from Tajikistan’s Minister of Foreign Affairs Sirodjidin Muhriddin to Foreign and Expatriates Minister Walid al-Moallem in which the Tajik side expressed desire to develop bilateral relations.
The Tajik Diplomat affirmed Syria’s important role in the region and maintaining its stability.
He stressed his country’s support for Syria’s sovereignty, independence and standing by its side in fighting terrorism until achieving full victory.
Zubaydov described victory of Syria and its people over terrorism as “amazing and big”, underlining that this victory would not have been achieved without the steadfastness of the people and their rallying around the leadership of President Bashar al – Assad
He clarified that his country suffered from terrorism during the years of civil war and during the war and the instability of its neighbor Afghanistan.
The Tajik Ambassador emphasized the importance of cooperation among countries in countering-terrorism.
He said that the international media outlets didn’t convey the reality of the situation in Syria, adding that despite the misleading attempts which have been circulated from the beginning of the crisis regarding the situation, the Syrian people succeeded to achieve triumph in 2019.
The Tajik envoy hailed the steadfastness of the Syrians and their determination to achieve progress.
He expressed happiness over the return of security and stability , which he saw while touring in Damascus’s streets and markets.
Zubaydov noted that Tajikistan President Imam Ali Rahman visited Damascus in 2007, during which he signed 7 cooperation agreements, including agreements in the field of culture, media, economy, education, tourism and investment, and an agreement between the two chambers of commerce.
He hoped that Tajikistan would be able to contribute to the reconstruction of Syria.
Ambassador Zubaydov noted that the Syrian and Tajik peoples have shared history, customs and traditions for thousands of years.
The Republic of Tajikistan is located in Central Asia with its capital Dushanbe. It is a tourist country with many mountains and lakes covering about 2 percent of its area with an estimated population of 8 million.
