Damascus, SANA – Meetings of the 7th session of the Syrian-Belarusian Joint Committee for trade, economic and technical cooperation started on Thursday at Damascus-based Sheraton Hotel in coincidence with activities of Damascus International Fair.
The two-day session is to discuss issues of different spheres including agriculture, industry, health, social affairs and labor, communications and transportation.
The participants of the technical committees, representing a number of ministries and institutions from the Syrian and Belarusian sides, discussed projects that have been agreed on in former sessions and the agreements to be presented for developing and boosting cooperation by the two sides in different spheres.
In a press statement, head of the committee from the Belarusian side, Industry Minister Utiupin Pavel Vladimirovich, clarified that activities of the committee include wide cooperation sectors in the fields of trade and industrial investments.
In a similar statement, Head of the Committee form the Syrian side, Minister of Public Works and Housing Suhail Abdullatif said that the Committee will review over 60 agreements and understanding memos signed by the two countries, in addition to signing more four agreements and protocols that support the joint cooperation and boost the distinguished relations between the two countries.
He noted that the presence of Belarusian companies in Damascus International Fair is an important opportunity for getting acquainted to their products including heavy machinery that could be a supplying method of the reconstruction stage.
The two ministers also discussed in a joint meeting the issue of importing heavy engineering machines related to works of construction companies, in addition to facilitating cooperation in all spheres.
