China grants 100 buses to Syria in contribution to enhancing transport sector

Damascus, SANA- The Local Administration and Environment Ministry received on Thursday 100 44- seat buses provided by the People’s Republic of China to be distributed among the Syrian provinces and they will be put into service.

The shipment also included accessories and equipment for buses accompanied by 5 technicians who were sent to Syria to train cadres on using these buses and to make the required maintenance for them in the future.

following the signing of the receipt and delivery note with the Chinese Ambassador in Damascus Feng Biao, Local Administration and Environment Minister Hussein Makhlouf affirmed that the gift provided by the Chinese side comes in a time when terrorism-sponsoring states are continuing their unilateral coercive measures to exert pressure on the Syrian people.

Makhlouf indicated that the new buses will contribute to enhancing the transport sector and to providing suitable transport services for citizens with good standards and high quality.

He shed light on the deep-rooted historic relations binding the two countries, hailing China’s standing by Syria on the political, economic and social levels.

He expressed hope that China will be a main partner in the stage of the reconstruction through the Chinese companies and their experience and capabilities so as to achieve the common interests of the two friendly countries.

For his part, the Chinese Ambassador expressed hope that the new buses will improve the public transport sector in the Syrian cities and will facilitate the movement of citizens.

He affirmed that his country will continue to stand by Syria and its steadfastness in the face of terrorism and to provide more humanitarian and economic support to Syria.

He added that his country will also provide 3 container inspection devices “scanners” to enhance the job of the Syrian customs, considering that the Chinese aid comes as one of the initiatives to encourage the Syrian people in their efforts to reach a better life and future and as a  part of the reconstruction in their country.
