Syria rejects Arab summit statement on Iranian presence in Syria

Damascus, SANA_  Syria has rejected what was mentioned in the final statement released by the Arab emergency summit held in Saudi Arabia on what it called the Iranian intervention in Syria.

” The statement itself is an unacceptable interference in the internal affairs of Syria,” an official source at Foreign and Expatriates Ministry said in a statement to SANA on Friday.

The source added that Iranian presence is legitimate because it came at the request of the Syrian government and contributed to support Syria’s efforts in combating terrorism supported by some of the participants in this summit.

” The summit should instead condemn the involvement of other countries in Syrian affairs, which lacked legitimacy and legality and provided  unwavering support in various forms to terrorist groups and prolonging the crisis in Syria.” The source concluded.
