Geneva, SANA- Minister of Health Dr.Nizar Yazigi discussed with the WHO Regional Director for the Eastern Mediterranean Ahmed Al-Mandharithe possibility of assisting in the construction of a hospital specialized in the treatment of tumors and the provision of cancer drugs in light of the difficulties of unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria
During a meeting held on sidelines of the Minister of Health Dr.Nizar Yazigi, Yazigi stressed the need for credibility in the WHO statements and paying more attention to the reality of the Syrians in the Occupied Syrian Golan through creating elements of health and sending a team to check their conditions.
Yazigi also discussed with Special Rapporteur on the negative impact of the unilateral coercive measures on the implementation of human rights Idriss Jazairy the impact of the unilateral coercive measures and their repercussions on the health sector.
The Minister also reviewed with his Cuban counterpart Jose Angel Portal means to bolster cooperation between Syrian and Cuba, especially in the pharmaceutical field.
The activities of the 72nd World Health Assembly kicked off on Monday with the participation of 194 countries including Syria and will continue until May 28th.
