Damascus, SANA-Prime Minister Dr. Wael al-Halqi stressed the Syrian government’s keenness to open up new prospects in economic, trade and industrial relations and inking free trade agreements with friendly countries, including Belarus.
This came during the Premier’s meeting with Belarusian ambassador to Syria Alexander Ponomarev.
Al-Halqi emphasized the necessity of prompting bilateral relations in the trade and development spheres so as to match “political and historical ties” binding the two countries.
He called on Belarusian businessmen and companies to inaugurate development and service projects and help in rebuilding Syria.
The ambassador echoed a similar desire on the part of his country, hoping that trade and economic ties would be further promoted and the trade exchange volume increased.
Means of putting mutual agreements into effect, exchanging expertise and providing humanitarian aid to the Syrian people figured prominently during the meeting.
