Damascus, SANA- Algerian Embassy in Damascus on Thursday held a reception ceremony on the occasion of the 64th anniversary of the launch of the Algerian revolution at Damascus-based Four Season Hotel.
Delivering a speech, Algerian Ambassador in Damascus Saleh Bousha affirmed his country’s support for efforts aiming at resolving the crisis in Syria and ensuring its sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity as well as restoring its regional and international role.
“Syria started to recover due to the sacrifices of its people and army,” the Algerian Ambassador said, affirming the importance of the local reconciliation process track adopted.
He added that Algeria seeks to activate cooperation with Syria, contribute to the reconstruction stage and take advantage of all partnership opportunities available.
Speaking to the journalists, Presidential Political and Media Adviser Dr. Bouthaina Shaaban clarified that the struggle of the Algerian people against colonialism and its victory over it has become an inspiration for the peoples of the world, adding that Syria faced all kinds of collusion, terrorism and hegemony.
For his part, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad pointed out to deep- rooted relations binding Syria and Algeria and their standing against terrorism.
Mikdad said that Syria will triumph over terrorism and liberate the remaining areas under the control of terrorism and its supporters, including Turkey and the US, indicating that the people of the occupied Syrian Golan have been achieving a victory recently through the rejection of holding the so-called local councils’ elections, which the Israeli occupation authorities tried to impose.
