Eid sweets… ancient industry inherited by the Syrian families, photos

Damascus, SANA- Markets of Damascus are witnessing an active shopping movement where people began Eid shopping during the last week of the holy month of Ramadan in preparation for Eid al-Fitr.

During the last week of Ramadan, housewives begin to purchase the ingredients of the sweets for making tasty home-made sweets to be served for family, friends and guest during Eid days.

In Syria, traditional sweets are usually prepared such as Ma’moul, Ghraibeh, Karabeej, Barazeq, and Baklava according to recipes put by our ancestors hundreds of years ago.
