Tartous Museum, Ancient Cathedral of St Mary

Tartous, SANA – St Mary Cathedral in Tartus dates back to 12 AD, where it was built by the Crusades around 1145.

During the twelfth and thirteenth centuries, the church was a destination for pilgrims from throughout all over Europe, to visit the icon the Virgin by St Luke the Evangelist.
