Syria and Cuba discuss enhancing medical ties and exchanging expertise

Havana, Syria – Cuban Deputy Health Minister Alfredo Gonzalez Lorenzo stressed his country’s support and solidarity with Syria in the face of a ruthless terror war from which Syria and its people have suffered.

Gonzalez Lorenzo, in a meeting with Higher Education Minister Atef Naddaf on Thursday, voiced his country’s interest in boosting cooperative relations with Syria in the Health field and medical studies, pointing out the remarkable progress achieved by Cuba in this field over the past years.  

In turn, Naddaf stressed the necessity of enhancing Syrian-Cuban ties in the field of medical studies and exchanging expertise.

Naddaf also briefed the Cuban official on the situation of the education system in Syria through highlighting on the condition of undergraduate and postgraduate stages

 Earlier, Syria and Cuba signed an executive program of cultural cooperative agreement between the Ministries of Higher Education of both countries, in a meeting that had been held at the Cuban capital of Havana in the presence of Syria’s ambassador to Cuba Idris Mia.
