Algerian Ambassador: We stand by Syria in combating all forms of terrorism

Damascus, SANA- Algerian Ambassador in Damascus Saleh Bosha has affirmed that his country stands by Syria in the face of all forms of terrorism, calling for supporting the exerted efforts to allow Syria to play its regional and international role.

“ Algeria rejected freezing Syria’s membership at the Arab League and it has called for activating bilateral cooperation,” Bosha said Wednesday during a reception held at Damascus-based Four Seasons Hotel by the Algerian Embassy marking the 63rd anniversary of the outbreak of the Revolution of 1st November against the French Colonialism.

He added that over the past few months, senior delegations from the two countries have exchanged visits to assert Algeria’s solidarity with the Syrian people and to contribute to the reconstruction process in Syria.

For his part, Deputy Foreign and Expatriates Minister Fayssal Mikdad stressed that Syria and Algeria are brotherly countries, and that the Algerian Revolution was a revolution for all Arabs.

“Today, we are fighting the same occupation as ISIS and Jabhat al-Nusra terrorist organizations are another form of colonialism,” Mikdad said, adding that when Arabs unite in the face of their common enemy, they will be able to defeat it and achieve victory.

He reiterated Syria’s stance in supporting Iraq for consolidating its unity and foiling all schemes of dividing it, noting that “Syria and Iraq are undividable.”

Mikdad affirmed that Raqqa is inseparable part of Syria and Idleb will return to the homeland and that the occupied Syrian Golan will be liberated.

In a press statement, Mikdad said “The Turkish presence on Syria’s territories is illegitimate so it is an occupation, and it is unacceptable as it contradicts with the goals of Geneva Conference.”

Talking about Syria’s stance regarding Moscow’s call for holding a Syrian-Syrian dialogue conference, Mikdad said “We welcomed such a conference as it is a correct beginning for ending crisis in Syria.”

Attending the reception ceremony, Presidential Political and Media Adviser Bouthaina Shaaban said that Algeria presented an example to follow by the whole world in fighting occupation.

Shaaban thanked the call by the Algerian Foreign Minister for the return of Syria to the Arab League, saying “Syria has its own vision regarding the Arab League, and the league we want to return to is not this league which conspires against Arab countries.”
