Syria participates in World Food Moscow Exhibition

Moscow, SANA – The sixth World Food Moscow Exhibition kicked off on Monday in Moscow with the participation of more than 1,500 companies from more than 60 countries including Syria.

Deputy Chairman of the Federation Council committee on agriculture Sergei Lisovsky told SANA’s correspondent that he is glad to see Syria returning to global markets and entering the Russian market, affirming that Syria’s participation in the Exhibition is an opportunity for expanding the export of goods to Russia.

Lisovsky said that despite seven years of terrorism and Western sanctions, the Syrian people are capable of overcoming these ordeals and rebuilding their country and economy in record time.

For his part, trade attache at the Syrian Embassy in Moscow Munzer Ahmad said that the Syrian companies’ participation in this even proves that Syria is recovering and becoming stronger and more determined.

In turn, Director General of Makki for food industries and sweets Hussam Makki said that the company is participating in the Exhibition to boost trade exchange between Syria and Russia and improve commercial relations, noting that Syrian products proved popular at the event.

In a similar statement, Director of Trade Development at Sama al-Cham Group for food and construction Fayssal Mouselli said that the turnout for the company’s booth has been greater than expected, and many visitors were wondering about how the Syrians are able to participate in this event despite the terrorist war on Syria.

The Exhibition will conclude on September 14th.
