Damascus, SANA- The temperatures will remain 4 to 6 degrees above average as the country is affected by a superficial Indian low air pressure accompanied by a subtropical high air pressure in the upper layers of the atmosphere.
The Meteorology Department expected in its Tuesday bulletin that the weather will be hot and the skies will be clear in general while the weather will be very hot and misty in the eastern, al-Jazeera and al-Badiya desert areas.
The wind will be northwesterly with a light to moderate speed and the sea waves will be low in height.
In a statement to SANA, weather forecaster Shadi Jawish said that the heatwave reached the peak on Monday as the temperatures exceeded 40 in most areas, adding that the temperatures will remain 4 to 6 degrees above average on Tuesday.
Jawish added that on Wednesday, the temperatures will slightly drop, yet they will remain 3 to 5 degrees above average and the weather will be relatively hot in inland areas, while in the coming days the temperatures will witness a slight and gradual drop.
The expected temperatures in some of the major Syrian cities will be as follows: Damascus 42/26, Daraa 39/24, Homs 39/23, Lattakia 32/24, Aleppo 41/25 and Deir Ezzor 46/27.
