Damascus, SANA – President Bashar al-Assad received two congratulatory cables on occasion of Syria’s Independence Day from President of Venezuela Nicolas Maduro Moros and President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.
President Maduro congratulated President al-Assad and the Syrian people on this occasion which marks the 71st anniversary of Syrians earning their independence and triumphing over Western colonialism, adding that today the neo-colonialists are attempting to dismantle Syria, and affirmed that Venezuela affirms its friendship and solidarity with Syria.
For his part, President Sargsyan offered congratulations and best wishes to President al-Assad and the Syrian people on this occasion, voicing confidence that the Armenian-Syrian cooperation will continue to grow and expressing Armenia’s appreciation of the Syrian government’s initiative regarding intra-Syrian dialogue that will lead to resolving the conflict in Syria in a peaceful manner, hoping that the efforts of the Syrian people and the international community will be successful and that security and peace will return to Syria.
