Damascus, SANA – Local Administration and Environment Minister Hussein Makhlouf discussed on Monday with the Belarusian Industry Minister Vitaly Vovk and the accompanying delegation the prospects of cooperation between the two countries in the fields of reconstruction, rehabilitation of infrastructure, and rapid construction.
The discussions focused on the necessity of establishing investments in industrial cities to ensure the sustainable development of resources through the settlement of Belarusian industries in Syria via the implementation of a series of investment and service projects such as the establishment of a factory for assembling Belarusian vehicles in one of the Syrian industrial cities.
Makhlouf affirmed the importance of follow-up talks between the Syrian and Belarusian sides, especially in the field of transport through supplying 202 buses to the ministry to support the internal transport system and working to activate the cooperation agreement signed between the ministry and the Belarusian Ministry of Emergency Situations in 2015.
For his part, Vovk who is also the Chairman of the Syrian-Belarusian Committee for Trade, Economic and Technical Cooperation said that his visit aims at deepening the existing relations of cooperation between the two countries in various fields, pointing out to the desire of the Belarusian government and companies to enhance bilateral cooperation and investment in the field of transport and industry during the reconstruction phase.
