New York, SANA- The Special Committee on the Situation with regard to the Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples (also known as the Special Committee on decolonization or C-24) reelected Syria’s Permanent Representative to the UN Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari as its Rapporteur.
Al-Jaafari election as a Rapporteur of the Committee for 2017 was made during its meeting held Wednesday at the UN Headquarters in New York.
Permanent Representatives of Venezuela to the United Nations was elected as the Chairman of the Committee and the Permanent Representatives of Cuba, Indonesia and Sierra Leone as deputies for the Chairman.
