Munich, SANA Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Javad Zarif discussed on Friday means of solving the crisis in Syria.
The Russian Foreign Ministry stated that Lavrov and Zarif discussed, during a meeting on the sidelines of the Munich Security Conference, the situation in Syria in the context of the recent Astana talks.
“The two sides discussed bilateral relations, including the schedule of upcoming contacts on various levels,” said the ministry, adding that current international issues were also on the table.
Earlier, Zarif stressed during a meeting with the UN Special Envoy to Syria Staffan de Mistura the importance of holding intra-Syrian talks away from foreign interventions and the need to enhancing ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid to besieged and displaced people.
