Bishop Hilarion: Russian Orthodox Church will take part in destroyed worship places in Syria

Moscow, SANA – Metropolitan Hilarion, Head of the External Church Relations Department of the Russian Orthodox Church, affirmed that the Church will take part in the rebuilding of worship places destroyed due to terrorist acts in Syria.

His remarks came during a meeting with students from the Moscow State University on Wednesday.

He stressed that terrorists need to be expelled first and peace be restored in Syria before any reconstruction works.

Bishop Hilarion noted that the Russian Orthodox Church is already involved in preparing humanitarian programs in Syria and sending aid to it.
