Damascus, SANA – “Aleppo is Our Destination” exhibition, currently held at Alef Noon Gallery in Damascus, features some 20 artworks by 15 young and pioneering plastic artists from Aleppo .
Presidential Political and Media Advisor Bouthaina Shaaban said that the artists who came from Aleppo to take part in this event and showcase their innovative works despite the pain and suffering send a message to the whole world that we, the Syrian people, refuse to die and we will achieve victory despite the enemies’ attempts to destroy the country.
Shaaban made her remarks on the sidelines of the exhibition organized in cooperation with the Ministries of Tourism and Culture.
She added that these artists have used art to convey the concepts of love, beauty and peace from their own perspectives and to relate stories of the steadfastness of the Syrian people and Aleppo city.
In turn, Director of Alef Noon Gallery Bade’a Jahjah highlighted the importance of this exhibition as a reflection of the art movement in Aleppo and its contribution to the cultural scene in Syria.
The exhibition lasts till the 19th of November 2016.
Aleppo, the economic capital of Syria, has witnessed savage terror attacks over the past four years where a lot of innocent civilians were martyred and several historic sites were damaged.
