Damascus Countryside/Lattakia, SANA – Terrorists from Jaish al-Islam on Wednesday violated the cessation of hostilities agreement for the fifth time in 48 hours by firing mortar shells at Harasta suburb in Damascus Countryside.

A source at the Damascus Countryside Police Command told SANA that 3 mortar shells fired by terrorists located in Harasta fields fell on Harasta suburb, causing material damage to public and private properties.

The Russian center, based in Hmeimim airbase, said in a statement that terrorists from Jaish al-Islam targeted Syrian Army positions with mortar rounds in Hteitet al-Jersh, Harasta, Jobar and other areas in Damascus Countryside.

The cessation of hostilities agreement is not applicable to ISIS, Jabhat al-Nusra or other groups designated as terrorist organizations by the UN Security Council resolution 2268.

As for the local reconciliations, the Center pointed out in its statement that one more town joined the cessation of hostilities agreement in Homs province, raising the number of towns and villages within the agreement to 166.
