Premier Khamis: Government supports the work of charities

Damascus, SANA- Prime Minister Imad Khamis took part Friday in a charitable Iftar banquet held by Ahl al-Sham Initiative for the sons of martyrs, orphans and children with special needs.

Khamis said this event, which comes during the holy month of Ramadan, reflects the old origin of the Syrian people over hundreds of years, asserting that the Syrian people’s steadfastness during the global war on Syria has been a message of partnership among all spectrums of the Syrian people in defending their country in all fields.

Prime Minister reiterated that the government, represented by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Work, supports and organizes the work of charitable associations believing in the role of these associations in delivering all social services, relief and other charitable works to people in need.

For her part, Social Affairs’ Minister Rima al-Qadiri said that this event comes within the role of the Government in taking care with all spectrums of the society, as some associations care about the orphans, sons of the martyrs and disabled children.

Al-Qadiri asserted that the Ministry spares no effort to support the needed, particularly in the fields of education, health and psychological and social care.
