Gaziantep Chamber of Industry: Our exports to Syria increased by 8 percent last year

Ankara, SANA- Exporters in the Turkish province of Gaziantep expressed optimism about the Syrian market and their desire to increase exports to Syria.

Turkish industrialists aim to increase their exports to Syria to a higher level with the start of the new phase after the fall of the former regime, Head of the Gaziantep Chamber of Industry Adnan Unverdi told Anadolu Agency.

“There is an 8 percent increase in our exports to Syria in 2024, and cooperation between the two countries will increase our regional trade,” Unverdi added.

According to data from the Exporters Association of the Southeastern Anatolia Region, Gaziantep province exported 85 percent of the region’s total exports, which amounted up to 11.7 billion dollars last year.

Iraq came first in the list of countries to which Gaziantep exported its products followed by the United States and then Syria.
