Damascus-SANA- Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani underlined, during a press conference with his Italian counterpart Antonio Tajani, the full commitment to the principles and values that enhance freedom for all Syrians under the rule of law and citizenship.
He noted that ensuring such rights constitutes the basic pillar of Syria’s unity and stability, which would be positively reflected on the region.
Al-Shaibani pointed out that work is underway to hold a national conference that brings together all Syrians, ensures the formulation of the next stage in all its phases, and achieves a smooth and comprehensive political transition of power in which everyone participates, in addition to ensuring that all criminals and those involved in crimes against the Syrian people are held accountable.
Al-Shaibani reiterated that the new Syrian leadership, at this crucial stage, has turned the page on the former regime and ended the practices been used to consolidate its authority, noting the endeavor of the new leadership to open a new page in which Syria is a model to follow in stability, prosperity and peace.
“I am pleased to announce that I am going to head a high-level Syrian delegation to visit abroad, including a number of European countries, with the aim of enhancing partnership and cooperation in all domains,” al-Shaibani added, calling on all delegations and international companies to launch more initiatives and partnerships on the Syrian territory.
