Hasakah, Jan. 24 (SANA) The Syrian Petroleum Company announced on Saturday it has begun pumping raw gas from the Jbessa fields in Hasakah to the Furqlus gas plant in Homs countryside at 35-bar pressure.
The company said that the move is intended to supply gas for electricity generation, with a daily throughput of about 1.2 million cubic meters through the Kuna and Markada pumping stations.
The new supplies will be a significant step toward stabilizing the electricity grid and improving public services, the company said.
The move is part of a broader plan by the Syrian government to restart the recently recovered fields and raise production levels in the coming months.
In parallel, the company has also begun extracting and transporting oil from the liberated fields in Raqqa and Deir Ezzor to refineries through national efforts. Officials emphasized that regaining control of the oil and gas fields will contribute to the economy recovery and reinforce Syria’s energy sector.
