The Syrian Civil Defense renewed calls for the immediate and unconditional release of volunteer Hamza Al-Amarin, 100 days after he was kidnapped by armed groups in the city of Sweida.
The Civil Defense said in a statement on Friday that Hamza Al-Amarin is a young Syrian man who dedicated himself to saving lives, and was at the forefront of first responders in the most difficult circumstances, carrying the slogan of humanity above all considerations.”
It added “Targeting him is against all the values that we believe in, and everyone who seeks to build a safe and dignified future for Syrians”.
The Civil Defense renewed its condemnation of this crime, noting that the kidnapping of al-Ammarin constitutes a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and all international laws and conventions, calling for the immediate and unconditional release of Al-Ammarin.
Communication with Al-Ammarin was lost on July 16th while he was carrying out an evacuation mission for a UN team inside Sweida province.
