Barrack: Stability in Syria requires empowering the economy

Ankara, SANA- US Special Envoy to Syria Thomas Barrack stressed that stability in Syria requires empowering its economy.

In a tweet on the X platform on Friday, Barrack said: “The US President’s bold decision to ease sanctions on Syria continues, with the Department of Commerce easing export controls, allowing for the approval of essential licenses for communications, infrastructure, energy, aviation, and others.. Stability in Syria requires enabling the economy to function.”

The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) of the U.S. Department of Commerce announced Thursday a new regulatory rule easing licensing requirements for civilian exports to Syria. This comes three days after the U.S. Treasury Department announced the removal of sanctions regulations on Syria from the federal code of law.
