During his participation in a dialogue session at the Bonn International Media Forum on Tuesday al-Mustafa said “the current stage requires building a professional national media that adopts transparency and gives a real space to freedom of expression, within a framework that respects public values and protects the national interest”.

He also stressed the importance of supporting Syrian media institutions with competencies, training and modern technologies, and opening the way for independent and responsible media to contribute to building an inclusive national discourse.

On the sidelines of the forum, Dr. Al-Mustafa held a meeting with Peter Limburg, director general of the German DW, during which they discussed means of joint media cooperation, exchange of experiences, and the possibility of implementing training programs to support the development of Syrian media cadres.
